I knew I wanted to write a blog. I knew it was going to include the various characters in my life…a.k.a. family and friends. I often get comments from said characters on “How busy my life is”, “How much driving I do?” And they tell me, “How do you do it all and still manage to watch T.V.”
So when I was looking for names to call my fancy little blog, I knew I wanted “Chaos” to be in it, but I wanted it to reflect me. A lot of times, my organizing skills help me to calm the chaos down. A simple spreadsheet, a few mantras and a little hard work, and I can take the Crazy down a notch or two.
I got to thinking sometimes; it’s like a sheer curtain. Sure you can see through it but every thing is a bit distorted. You can make out some of the colors, maybe a few shapes, but it’s not until you pull the curtain back and see what is truly behind them.
And that’s what I like to think I do with my blog. I will take a topic, an opinion, an emotion, etc. and sit on it for a while. Let it simmer a bit, feeling it’s vibe until it just makes sense enough for me to write it’s story and explain it in better terms. Maybe giving my reader’s a different perspective, give some one a better understanding, or to just plain get it off my chest.
A lot of things in my life are chaotic but I like to think the chaos is behind a sheer curtain and my blog is me, pushing aside the curtain to look at it with new eyes. It takes a little bit of time and some creative thinking to see it for what it is and understand it with a renewed self. It’s my little “Happy Place” where I can share with the world the thing’s that matter the most to me. It’s like a diary, a best friend (who only listens), a place to come and let loose without having to worry about anything. Because a lot of times I don’t feel like me. The world doesn’t make sense to me and I tend to think I’m heading in one direction when in fact, something happened and I didn’t notice it and it’s put me heading in the opposite direction. You need your friends and family to keep your goals in check and to keep yourself moving in the right direction. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about watch the movie Labyrinth)
Anyway, that’s how I came to choose the name Sheer Chaos, sometimes it’s see through and sometimes its just plain chaos.
Sheer– 1. Transparently thin; diaphanous, as some fabrics: sheer stockings. 2. unmixed with anything else: We drilled a hundred feet through sheer rock. 3. Clear; completely; quite: Ran sheer into the thick of battle.
Chaos– 1. A state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order.
